It's a new year, so you know what comes with that.... that's right! Resolutions!! Now, I'm not a fan of waiting a whole year to start things. If I want something done, I usually want it done now. Nevertheless, I like to challenge myself, so here we go.
1. Lose 50 pounds. Wait, scratch that. Lose 50 MORE pounds. That's right folks! I am down to 195, down 50 pounds from my highest NON-PREGNANT weight of 245. I specify that, because when people ask me how much I've lost, they feel the need to say, "Well... you just had a baby, so..." No. No, no, no, no, no. Why ask if you are just going to make me feel like I didn't really do anything worth bragging? I am proud. Don't be jealous. Hah.
2. Wear sunscreen everyday. I'm proud to say that I have been doing this since December. Go me!
3. Be vegetarian. If it took chlorophyl and sunlight to grow, then throw it on my plate! This is another one I have been doing for a while. Granted, this one I don't follow as religiously. I do still like to eat chicken, but besides that, no thanks.
4. Exercise at least 3x per week. This is another one I've been doing, since probably August, so I just want to maintain doing this now that school is starting back up. Speaking of...
5. Maintain passing grades I am proud of. Note: I did not say "Get all A's" or "Have a 4.0". I'm being more realistic about nursing school this go around. That said, it doesn't mean I'm not striving to be a part of Sigma Theta Tau. Along the lines of maintaining my grades...
6. Read/review every night for school. I'm not good about cracking those things called books open. I'm going to work on that one along with my study habits (I'm clumping these into one resolution since they go hand in hand).
7. Keep up with the cleaning and laundry. This one requires the work of my husband, since I'll be gone alot for school and clinicals. So I guess I should make the resolution say, nag my husband just enough to to clean and do laundry but not enough to annoy him.
And now, looking over last year's resoloutions (check them out here), here is the status of those.
1. Completed well before baby was born.
2. I met my goal to be under 200 pounds. Now to keep it up!
3. Well... hmm... you know how the hubs lost his job? It kind of put a damper on date nights when we couldn't afford to do too much or feel emotionally up to it. Something to work towards this year.
4. I read probably 6 books? That's decent for me, again considering the past year's stressors.
5. I did well with this, then had the second baby, then had the hubs lose his job, then had to move, so it kind of flew out the window. Something else to work towards.
6. Working out, yes. Giving myself a little more time, yes. Shaving my legs, no. I'll work on that one. I'm sure the hubs would appreciate it on nights I'm trying to use him as a station heater in bed.
7. Save more, no. Spend less, yes and no. We have to pay for school somehow right?
8. Yes, yes and yes. Something I will always do.
9. Yes on going to mass. No on the volunteering. Life got a little too chaotic and I won't try and make that commitment this year knowing how the school year is going to be.
10. Yes and know. Just because I worked on it, doesn't mean I succeeded. Another work in progress ;)
